Be it ever not humble, there’s no place like Rome!

Yeah, Rome is pretty spectacular. We know people who love Florence, who adore Venice, and who swoon over Sorrento, but in our minds, it doesn’t get better than Rome. Really. So, hypothetically speaking, if you were to book a trip to Rome with us, what sorts of things might we plan for your visit? 1. Attend Gladiator School.

Go back to school, but a school with a difference! Take a really fun 2-hour course at a gladiator school on the ancient Via Appia in Rome, and learn to be a Roman fighter. You will live like a warrior for 2 hours, wearing the gladiator tunic and mastering the skills of swordplay – safely of course. After an introduction to Roman history, your family can learn the basic techniques of gladiatorial swords fighting. Each session includes a description of life as a gladiator and top tips on techniques with Roman weapons. This is a really fun thing for kids and adults!

2. Learn to Make Gelato.

Sure, we can arrange for all kinds of cooking classes, if you’d like to learn to make pasta, pizza or tiramisu. But how about a class in making gelato? Your instructor will greet you at the shop and welcome you to the Gelateria in the center of Rome. All the ingredients and machinery will be ready for you to learn how to make this delicious treat. The ice-cream experts will show you first how to make three flavors of gelato, a white base from milk cream, a yellow base from eggs, and a fruit base from fruit.  After the demonstration, you get to make one flavor of gelato from a selection. Your instructor will teach you how to use the machinery and the correct amount of each ingredient to use. Then, try your own ice-cream and taste more flavors from the shop!

3. Play the Angels and Demons Mystery Game.

Play the role of Robert Langdon in Angels and Demons as you walk around Rome in search of clues and amazing stories. Each clue will lead you from one place to another, giving you precise directions, so you won’t need a map, a GPS or a guide. When you solve it and guess the answer, the secret story of that place is unlocked. Along the way, you’ll reach amazing places seen in the movie, such as the Sant'Angelo Castle or the Santa Maria della Vitoria church, you will find out secret stories about the places you discover, and you will get to solve the mystery of the Illuminati. After you buy the quest, you will receive an access code that you can use in the app. It will take you about 2-hours to complete, but there’s no time limit, you can finish it at your own pace. You won’t need a guide, just download the app, go to the starting point and you’re ready to go on a city exploration adventure. As you solve the clues, you'll discover new locations and stories.
