Well, we’ve got another year of Huckleberry Travel under our belt! This was a great year for our clients. We sent travelers all around the world—to more than 50 countries on six of the seven continents (we’re still looking for those first Antarctica clients, by the way), and we’re really excited about what 2020 has in store.

This year, we escorted a big group of travelers to Alaska, and a smaller group to Morocco. We traveled with clients to the Arabian Gulf, and on the Rhine River. We re-visited Peru and Portugal, and we sailed the Caribbean on a new state-of-the-art cruise ship. We saw camels in the Sahara and sea otters in Sitka. We biked through Bahrain and hiked the Inca Trail. We rode a gondola over the autumn vineyards in the Rhineland, and we rode a different gondola up to Mt. Roberts in Juneau.

Our clients did a lot, too! We had our first ever clients go to Madagascar, Samoa, and Malta. They rode in a horse-drawn cart to their beach resort in Indonesia. They saw incredible wildlife in the Galápagos. They drove along the southern Norwegian coast. They walked the Camino de Santiago. They visited the home of gummi bears in Bonn. And they saw Lady Gaga perform in Las Vegas.

But that’s not all that happened for us in 2019. One of us quit his day job to focus full-time on the business. And we expanded to the West Coast when the lovely, talented, and well-traveled Erin Richards joined our business, based in California. We spent a lot of time focusing on sustainable travel this year, by structuring our business around the idea that our clients can #TravelWithPurpose. We re-vamped our fee structure so that it now includes a carbon offset for all of our clients’ travels, and, of course, we continue to support environmental, social, economic and cultural sustainability whenever we build trips for our clients. We also got some great new tech tools for our clients, and we started a partnership with a travel financing company that can make those bucket list adventures a little easier to attain!

Speaking of bucket list adventures, we also launched The Bucket List Club, by Huckleberry Travel—an exclusive travel product where we’ll plan, curate and execute your bucket list travel experiences in a way that’s coordinated, strategic, sustainable, and on-budget!

So, what’s on tap for 2020? Well, just this week, we’ve got clients on their way to Costa Rica and Australia, to ring in the New Year abroad. We’ve already got clients booked to nearly every continent, just in the first quarter of 2020 (still looking for those Antarctica clients!). We’re planning three years of nearly-constant retirement travel for one couple who’s starting their adventure with a transatlantic ocean liner crossing and then exploring the world from there. And we’ve even got clients booked into 2021!

We’re escorting groups of travelers to Greenland and to the Mediterranean, among other places. Our clients are going to have once-in-a-lifetime experiences, like going to the Australian Open, where they’ll have walk-on access to the blue clay court. Imagine taking selfies on the court while the players warm up behind you? We can’t wait to see those pictures. We’ve got clients who’ll be biking through Vietnam, and scuba diving in Saba. And the whole way, we’ll be there helping to plan those incredible experiences, and making sure that they’re taken care of before, during and after their trips.

If you’d like to get in on all the fun, we’d love to help you plan your next adventure. Just drop us a line!
