In just a few weeks, we’ll be traveling to Tanzania for an incredible socially-distant safari experience. Tanzania is open to US travelers, now, and we’re both fully-vaccinated, so for our first trip outside North America in over a year, we’re heading to Africa! On our trip, we’ll be staying within view of Mt. Kilimanjaro, visiting the Serengeti, and staying at a coffee plantation eco-lodge, but one of the experiences we’re most looking forward to savoring, is our visit to the Ngorongoro Crater.

The Ngorongoro Crater is actually the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It’s in northern Tanzania, near Arusha. It’s sort of a natural enclosure for wildlife with tens of thousands of animals including lions, hippos, zebra, wildebeasts, and black rhinos.

We’ll be staying on the rim of the crater, and descending into the crater for full-day safaris for the two days that we’re there. It’s an incredible ecological area, and we’re really excited to have the experience, but we’re also really looking forward to the luxurious property we’ll be visiting while there — the Manor at Ngorongoro.
