We pride ourselves on consistently working with the best hotels, resorts, tour operators and cruise lines when we book travel for our clients. And because we’re affiliated with Virtuoso, it’s not surprising that a lot of people think of us as an agency that’s focused on luxury. However, when we speak to people about the trips we book, it’s clear to us that “luxury” can mean a lot of things. Sure, we can book a “pull-out-all-the-stops” trip for you. But when we think of luxury, we think that it means a lot more than just spending a lot of money. And sometimes, it doesn’t mean spending a lot of money at all!

So what does luxury travel look like to us? Here are the elements of our definition:

Luxury is synonymous with authenticity.

We can book anything and everything, but we find that most of our clients come to us because they know that we’ll curate a travel experience for them that immerses them in the destination. Having an authentic experience is important to us, and it’s a priority for our clients. So, if you consider yourself a traveler, rather than a tourist, we’d say that makes you a luxury traveler.

Luxury is personal.

Every once in a while, we’ll find a client that wants to book exactly the same trip that a friend of theirs booked, but that’s pretty rare these days. Most of our clients are craving a travel experience that takes into account their individuality. If you’re the type that doesn’t want to live the same experience as everyone else, guess what — that makes you a luxury traveler!

Luxury is about value.

We don’t book “deals” or “bargains” because our clients generally aren’t happy with the lowest common denominator. However, it’s pretty clear that paying a little bit more than the bargain-basement price in order to get something that’s truly exceptional is worth it to most people. Because we cultivate relationships with our supplier partners, we have access to preferred pricing and exclusive amenities, as well as all of the currently-available promotions. So, if you’re the type of traveler that appreciates getting the most bang for your buck, that’s pretty much what we’d expect of a luxury travel client.

There are other things we’re noticing — our luxury clients are younger than ever before, they’re interested in longer vacations, and they’re prioritizing sustainability and wellness.
