This past summer was particularly difficult when a breakdown in the baggage handling system at Heathrow Airport led to thousands and thousands of lost or seriously delayed bags. We always recommend that our clients put travel insurance on their trips,. The policies we recommend always include coverage for lost or stolen luggage or personal effects. And if the airline loses your bag, they’ll certainly offer you compensation for their mishandling of your bags.
But we go a step further. For any trip where we book your air reservation, we put “"Blue Ribbon Bags" protection on each ticket we issue, at no additional cost to our clients. If your bags are lost and our service can't get it to you within four days, they pay out a flat payment of $1000 per lost bag, in addition to any payment from your travel insurance or reimbursement from the airline.
