crowds have never really been our thing.
Well, here we are in 2021. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, but, of course, we’re not there yet. While we wait for vaccinations to go into arms all across the world, we’re also operating from the assumption that many of the safety protocols that we’re seeing right now will continue going forward.
And we’ve been spending a lot of our time paying attention to those new protocols. While we know that some people are still not comfortable with cruise travel, we’re also impressed by the leadership shown by major cruise lines, who’ve put some of the most comprehensive safety measures in place for the resumption of cruising. At hotels and resorts, we’ve done extensive training on the sanitation measures, the way housekeeping staff has been trained, and whether the staff is consistently wearing masks. We can tell you which airlines are still blocking middle seats, as well.
But when it comes to tour providers, the equation is much more complex. Since our focus at Huckleberry Travel has always been on smaller, more culturally-immersive travel, we don’t book a whole lot of big package tours—we’ve always tended toward suppliers like G Adventures, who limit their tours to no more than 16 people (sometimes as few as 12). And the other great thing about G Adventures, is that their group policies frequently enable us to put together private groups — either for like-minded clients who are looking for value on their vacation, or as a private group, say for a multi-generational family or a group of besties.
But even companies like G Adventures, who have always limited the size of their groups, have implemented additional safety and sanitation protocols. Take a look at what they’re doing.
We probably sound like a broken record when we say that travel has become more complicated than ever. But just because it’s complicated, doesn’t mean it’s impossible. There are some destinations where you can even travel safely right now! But the key to safe travel is traveling with companies that are prioritizing your health, safety and security. And those are the companies that we’ve identified as our preferred travel partners.
So, if you’re ready to start making a plan for travel later this year, let us show you some options from travel suppliers we trust. They’ve all got sound safety protocols, and their booking policies are flexible, if you need to change your plans.
