Spend the first week of 2025 sailing down the Mekong River on one of our favorite river cruise partners, Ama Waterways.  As an added incentive, Huckleberry’s own Erin will be onboard for this transformative trip, where you’ll explore the cultural richness and vast beauty of Cambodia and Vietnam.  Join her on the Ama Dara to seek out authentic encounters in riverside markets, enjoy immersive experiences in traditional villages and colorful markets, and participate in a Buddhist blessing ceremony to start your new year on the right track. 

Port days include stops in Oknhatey – Silk Island – for silk weaving demonstrations and a visit to a local school, a visit to the Twin Mountains, Phnom Phen (where we will be treated to a traditional Buddhist blessing at Oudong monastery), Tra Su Forest and Sanctuary, and Sa Dec in Vietnam.  From the fun and playfulness of TukTuk rides and rice candy factories to the seriousness and solemnity of Cao Dai temple and a emotional tour of the genocide museum in Cambodia (Khmer Rouge/Killing Fields/Tuol Sleng S21) you will be transported out of the everyday.  Special cocktail hours welcome you back aboard after time off-ship exploring and absorbing the sites and sounds of life along the Mekong.
