We've already suggested some of our favorite travel-related gifts (with links on how you can buy them), but if you've got any avid readers on your list, here are a few books that you could easily give as gifts. Atlas Obscura is one of our favorite internet reads. The website has all sorts of quirky information about places around the world with interesting and unusual back-stories. If you know someone who's adventurous, who really likes to explore those destinations that are off-the-beaten-path, this'd be a great book for them. We love the Big Island of Hawai'i. There's so much to see and do, and with a rental car, you'll definitely want a solid guidebook to help you explore. On our last trip to Hawai'i, a friend recommended this book, and it was absolutely indispensable. Upon arrival, we drove from Kona Airport around the southern tip of the island to get to Volcano National Park for our first night's stay. Along the way, one of us drove, and the other played tour guide as we learned about the history and geography of the places we passed. And we also got some great tips of where to stop off for a plate lunch. If there's one thing we've learned from starting this business, it's that people love to indulge their pop culture obsessions when they travel. If you're a Harry Potter fan, you no doubt already have a pristine box set of all of the books. But you might not have the script for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, (Parts One and Two). We're fairly desperate to go back to Australia, and this book, by one of the best travel writers out there, only makes that desperation seem more acute. In a Sunburned Country chronicles a journey through Australia from east to west, through tiny little mining towns, forgotten coastal cities, and off-the-beaten-path forests. The book also touches upon how truly incredible and slightly terrifying the wildlife of Australia is. If you want to spark someone's interest in visiting Australia, this'd be the book to do that. And, if you want to go a little further and give them the trip-of-a-lifetime to explore Australia, well, we're happy to pull something together that would go along with the book!
