Glacier Bay National Park. Holland America Line is one of the few cruise lines that is permitted by the United States Parks Service to bring ships into the park. You’ll have Park Rangers and other naturalists on board while sailing in the park.
Scenic Cruising through the Stephens Passage. Want to see whales from the verandah of your stateroom? The Stephens Passage is renowned for its whale-watching opportunities.
Ketchikan. Whether you’re attending a lumberjack show, hiking through the rainforest or touring gold-rush era brothels (not currently operating, mind you), Ketchikan is a great way to experience the authentic Alaska.
Juneau. The tiny capital of Alaska is only accessible by air or sea, but there’s a lot to see and do, here. Kayak in view of the Mendenhall Glacier. Take the skytram up to Mt. Roberts for stunning views. Enjoy delicious seafood and a cold local microbrew. You’ll fall in love with Juneau.
Sitka. Few cruise lines stop in Sitka, but it’s on this itinerary! Take an excursion to see rafts of sea otters floating in the bay. Visit the Raptor Center, to meet a bald eagle, and learn about how they rehabilitate birds of prey. Check out a rescue facility for Alaka’s incredible bear population. Or, enjoy the Russian flavor of Sitka’s local culture.
Victoria. Oh, Canada! Victoria is completely charming, and you’ll have an evening in British Columbia’s capital, for a civilized evening. Visit the Empress Hotel, walk along the waterfront, or visit Buchart Gardens—one of the world’s finest botanical gardens.
And, we’ll be sailing on Holland America Line—one of the finest cruise lines, with excellent cusine, the best music at sea, and a refined classic cruise style that’s not at all stuffy.
